The Seward Elks are proud to offer the youth of our community an opportunity to participate in a fun event that stresses healthy recreation and lifestyles.
5:30 PM Wednesday August 18th, The Seward Elks Lodge will be sponsoring the Annual Elks Soccer Shoot. The event is open to all children from ages 4-13 and is FREE!! This year the event will take place at the Elementary School Soccer Field.
This event is being sponsored by the Elks with the assistance of Seward Parks and Recreation, but children DO NOT have to be a participant in the SPRD Soccer Program to participate. Soccer League participants are invited to come to the end of season BBQ to coincide with the Soccer Shoot.

Participants in the Soccer Shoot have to shoot a regular youth sized soccer ball into a smaller than regular goal from a specific distance depending on their age. Door prizes will be awarded.

The Seward Elks Lodge is a Community Service and Fraternal Organization that has been active in Seward for more than 65 years. Kids ages 5-12 are welcome to come down the the Wellington Picnic area this Friday, June 11th for a scenic 1 mile run along the bike path. There are plenty of traffic controllers along the way to help guide the racers in the right direction. Racers run to a turnaround point and finish where they started. Cost is $15 and includes a race t-shirt (TYC daycampers pay only $7 and transportation will be provided). Check in is at 10:30am and race starts at 11am. Soccer Play Day is a great introduction to the sport and a great refresher for the soccer league veterans! Pay the Early Bird fee and get the best rates for the league: $25 by June 14th.

Seward Archery League has moved to TUESDAYS (6-9pm)! Dust off your bow and arrows and come down to the Railroad Terminal for some target practice! Cost is $8 to drop in or $50 for the session (Jan 12th-Mar 16th). Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment but some equipment can be made available. Bows should be 70lbs and lower. NO crossbows! League is open to 16yrs and up (16 & 17 year olds welcome with an adult). End-of-Season Round Robin style tournament TBA. Call SPRD with questions: 224.4054

Come out and support local teams AVTEC and Woodrow Drilling this Saturday @ 10:00am as they face one of 10 teams from around the state in this Double-Elimination adult basketball tournament (AVTEC plays at the AVTEC gym, Woodrow plays at the high school). Urbach’s Youth Basketball League (UYBL) starts Saturday the 23rd! K-6th grades are invited to participate in this “For Fun,” non-competitive league, perfect for those new to the sport! All ability levels welcome! Saturdays, January 23rd through March 13th with an end of season tourney on March 27th. Fee is $45. 2nd-6th grades will have a weekday practice TBA and everyone gets a team jersey!
