The Chugach Arts Council is dedicated to supporting the arts & culture for people and communities in and around the Chugach National Forest.  Even if you are currently a member of supporter of other arts groups we invite your participation and input. Our goal is to provide a forum and a focal point for artists and communities to bring the kind of events or programs that would be of interest and a benefit.

Much of the area served by the Chugach Arts Council has low populations and vast wilderness.

This Thursday is the last Creative Writing Workshop for the season.  Julie and I would like to thank everyone for your enthusiasm and willingness to share your work and give positive feedback to others in the workshop.  We’ve really enjoyed facilitating a workshop of such talented (and brave) writers who not only show up no matter what the weather, but bring with them stories that open our minds and hearts to the wonders of the written word and the imagination.  Thank-you!  We hope to see you this Thursday, March 22nd, from 6pm-8pm in the basement of the Seward Community Library  Museum.  Haven’t attended one of our workshops before?  No worries, each workshop is independent of the rest, so bring paper and pencil and come join us—it’s free!  We would also like to thank Patty and the Seward Community Library Museum Staff for providing snacks and coffee/tea for our workshops—thanks guys! Our first practice went great! We are blessed to have had 12 brave souls come strut their stuff during choir, many of whom haven’t sung in a very long time! It’s not too late to join us, so please don’t hesitate to drop in one evening and see if you like the music! Save the date!
