Anchorage storyteller and author, Betty Arnett, will be in Seward for book signings and a meet-and-greet. The Seward Community Library Association, aka Friends of the Seward Library, is sponsoring Betty’s visit.

Arriving in Seward, Alaska, from Tennessee, Betty started her volunteer service at the Jesse Lee Home for children as a housemother in 1952. Her book, 22 and Mother of 11, tells her story.

Betty Arnett will have two book signing events while in Seward. Friday night, September 7th, during First Friday Art Walk, Betty will be at Starbird Studio, 6 pm – 8 pm. Starbird Studio is located downtown, 221 4th Avenue. Betty will be selling and signing her book during the art walk.

Saturday afternoon, September 8th, Betty will be in the community room at the Seward Community Library Museum, 12 o’clock, noon, to 1:30 pm. The Library is located downtown at 238 6th Avenue. Betty will give a brief talk about her time as a housemother at the Jesse Lee Home for children in the early 1950’s. Her book will be available for purchase and signing.
