...HEAVY RAIN TO BRING RISING WATER LEVELS TO THE KENAI PENINSULA
BEGINNING THIS WEEKEND...

The remnants of Tropical Storm Maliksi will bring heavy rain to
much of the Kenai Peninsula beginning Friday and continuing into this weekend. While this is not expected to bring significant flooding to the area, it will produce rising water levels to many of the popular recreation areas of the Kenai Peninsula including the Kenai River and Six Mile Creek near Hope this weekend. An active and much wetter pattern is then expected to continue into early next week with another round of potentially heavier rains expected to move into the area late Sunday into Monday. This second system will likely cause rising water levels to continue throughout the area into early next week, especially in the Seward area.
