Walk Across Alaska with Boys and Girls Club

Boys and Girls Club of the Kenai Peninsula invite all elementary school children to “Walk Across Alaska”! With support from a grant from Providence Seward Medical Center and through the nationwide Triple Play Program, children are challenged to log miles from April 4-May 18. All elementary school children (preschool through 5th grade) are invited to participate, not just children enrolled in Boys and Girls Club.
Rules of the challenge are:
1. Students must walk or jog outside of other sport activities (for example: if basketball has you running laps around the gym, those don’t count towards the competition). Just walk for the fun of it!
2. Walking or running must take place outside of school hours.
3. All running or walking outside of school and Boys and Girls Club must be logged and signed by a parent/guardian. Blank logs can be found on the tracking bulletin board in the elementary school near the main office.

4. All logs must be turned in by the last day of the competition, Friday, May 18th.
If you have any questions or comments, please call Seward’s Boys and Girls Club office at 224-7001.
The overall winner of this competition will receive a gift card to purchase a brand new pair of shoes ($100)! We hope to see more kids walking this spring!

The Walk Across Alaska tracking board can be found near the main office in the elementary school.
