Thank You for another successful tournament!

Marathon Wrestling Club would like to thank the many businesses and people of our community that came together to help us pull off another successful USA wrestling tournament at the Alaska Railroad Terminal, March 2nd & 3rd, 2018!  During our 2 day tournament we had 439 wrestlers from around the state competing in Greco and Freestyle wrestling.  Without the support or our local community, we would not be able to take on this massive event. I would like to thank the following for their support:  Christy Terry & the Alaska Railroad for allowing us to utilize their facility, Seward Parks & Rec for the use of the bleachers from the softball fields and the Seward Resort and Seward City Church for the use of tables and chairs.  All of the businesses in town that stayed open late so that wrestling families would have somewhere to eat when the tournament was over on Friday night and the businesses that contributed a portion of their sales from the weekend to Marathon Wrestling Club: AK Seafood Grill, The Girls Food Truck and Eight Arms Printing.

One of the requirements for hosting a tournament is to provide a “hospitality” room for coacheds and officials, this room has to provide food and drink for approx. 100 people, dinner on Friday and Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, as well as snacks and drinks throughout the tournament. The following businesses donated food:  Providence, Breeze Inn, Safeway, AK Seafood Grill and Apollo’s.  The rest of the food was donated by our awesome wrestling families! All of you made our hospitality room one of the best I have ever seen!  Thank you Jodi Kurtz for volunteering your time to organize and run the hospitality room again this year! You did an awesome job!

To all of the wrestling parents that donated your time, hard work, vehicles and trailers to move equipment, food, drinks and anything else that I may have missed, THANK YOU for making this the best tournament we have hosted!

Krystal Barlow, thank you for the AMAZING job you did singing our National Anthem, it was beautiful!

I know that there are people and businesses that I may be forgetting, if I did, I apologize!
