Congratulations to the three Seward area students who submitted entries to the PTA Reflections Art Recognition Program! The theme for the 2017-2018 National PTA Reflections Program was Within Reach. All three students’ entries advanced to the Region Finalist Level and Lucy Hankins advanced to the National Level as an Alaska State Finalist.

Lucy Hankins’ music composition, Stand Up, advanced to the State Finalist Level to compete with other National entries.

All of the Region finalist entries will be displayed at the Alaska State PTA Reflections Celebration on Saturday, April 14th in Anchorage. Students will receive their awards at that time. On May 1st National PTA will make the announcement of all National Reflections Winners. All National winning entries will then be sent on to Washington DC for a year of travel exhibits that start next January.

For 49 years, the National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to explore their creative talents and pursue artistic expression through participation in its annual Reflections Program. The program is recognized nationwide by colleges as an achievement of excellence. The Reflections Program is locally sponsored by the Seward PTA.
