Jan. 25 program looks into 1946 tragedy

Lee Poleske, local historian, will be featured speaker for this month’s “Fourth Thursdays: Our History” program on Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Seward Community Library and Museum.

Poleske will delve into the mystery of a tragic story of a 1946 airplane crash that led to the deaths of two Seward residents, Dr. Roy Banister and Superintendent of Schools Harold Roth. Despite an extensive search, neither of the men was ever found.

The program, which starts at 7 p.m. In the community room, is free and open to the public. The monthly “Fourth Thursdays” series is sponsored by Resurrection Bay Historical Society.
