Upcoming Music at Resurrect Art Dec 16, 17 & 21

Come get out of the rain and join us for some events at Resurrect Art in the coming days!
First, we’ll have Ukulele Russ joining us on Saturday, December 16 at 5pm. There is no cover, but I’m sure Russ would love a few dollars in the tip jar. You’re sure to enjoy Russ’s easygoing style – his one-man band plays everything from rock ‘n roll to funk, bluegrass to hip hop. Come join us for an early evening, and if you like what you hear, you can listen to Russ play later that night at the Yukon Bar.

The next day, Sunday, December 17, we’re excited to host a reading from writer Meagan Macvie, who is on an Alaskan book tour for her novel The Ocean in My Ears. This event is put on by 49 Writers – a statewide non-profit group that supports the artistic development of writers throughout Alaska. This reading will also feature local guest writers Shauna Potocky, Dan Walker, and Christy Everett Jordan.  The event will start at 6pm.

Finally, we’re so happy to have The Forest That Never Sleeps join us on Thursday, December 21 at 7pm.  This is a special solstice solo performance from Kat Moore of the Super Saturated Sugar Strings. Here’s a bit more about Kat’s solo work: “The Forest That Never Sleeps catalog is as musically diverse as it is vast, featuring everything from original piano, guitar, Celtic harp, and a cappella arrangements. [Kat] has traveled to the reaches of Alaska, toured the Pacific Northwest as both a soloist and keyboardist for the experimental folk duo, Small Souls, and performed as a guest vocalist and pianist with The Portland Cello Project. Compared to the likes of Regina Spektor, Melody Gardot, and Jade Castrinos (of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) Kat was named one of Culture Trips ’50 Female Musicians You Should Know From Each State In The U.S.'” We’re thrilled to have Kat join us for the solstice, and we hope you can too! We’re asking $10 at the door for this show.

Thank you so much for your support of our little coffee house haven – we appreciate you!
