Letters: Seward Community Foundation Operating Endowment Fund

The following letter is from Patricia Linville, President of the Seward Community Foundation Advisory Board-

We are writing to ask you to consider contributing to a new opportunity that will help sustain the health of our nonprofit community – the SCF Operating Endowment Fund.  This fund is specifically focused on creating a long-term source of funds to support the local operation of SCF.  Your generous support will help sustain the business of SCF, including:

  • Strengthening local non-profits through education and networking
  • Connecting donors with causes they care about
  • Convening community planning between individuals, organizations and governments

Thanks to the generous support of Rasmuson Foundation and The Alaska Community Foundation, all donations made to the new SCF Operating Endowment Fund through 2020 will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $15,000 per year.

You can help us achieve this ambitious goal and support the long-term operation of SCF by donating securely at and selecting “Seward Community Foundation Operating Endowment” from the drop-down menu or mailing your donation to PO Box 933 Seward, AK 99664.

The SCF Operating Endowment Fund is the only fund serving the Seward Community that supports our day-to-day expenses. Your contributions to all other endowed funds listed on below are 100% focused on providing sustainable support for grants that directly impact community programs in Seward and Moose Pass.

Because of donors like you, our endowed funds have grown to nearly $2.9M, and your generosity has helped generate more than $500,000 in community grants to local nonprofits. Funds have been granted for everything from purchasing studded tires for the Mt Marathon Wrestling van to providing the startup funding for Volunteer Hospice of Seward and so much more.

Please help sustain this valuable work with your generous contribution to the SCF Operating Endowment Fund.  Should you have questions please contact Allison Fong, SCF Program Manager at or 907-529-1134 or me at or 907-205-7459

With gratitude,

Patricia Linville, President SCF Advisory Board
