Commercial Building Energy Audit Applications Available

The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is now accepting applications for the Commercial Building Energy Audit (CBEA) program and requests that you distribute information on this opportunity to private commercial building owners in your community. This year the program is being funded by a grant from the US Department of Agriculture to AEA and will cover 75% of the cost of a Level I audit of a commercial building anywhere in Alaska outside of the Municipality of Anchorage, including in your community. Per USDA regulations, the building owner is responsible for paying 25% of the audit cost.

Audit costs and grant amounts are based on building size as follows:

Building Size (sq ft) Audit Cost Grant (75%) Owner (25%)
Up to 3000 $600 $450 $150
3001 – 6000 $900 $675 $225
6001 – 10000 $1,200 $900

$300 10001 – 20000 $1,600 $1,200 $400 20001 – 30000 $2,100 $1,575 $525
