The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is now accepting applications for the Commercial Building Energy Audit (CBEA) program and requests that you distribute information on this opportunity to private commercial building owners in your community. This year the program is being funded by a grant from the US Department of Agriculture to AEA and will cover 75% of the cost of a Level I audit of a commercial building anywhere in Alaska outside of the Municipality of Anchorage, including in your community. Per USDA regulations, the building owner is responsible for paying 25% of the audit cost.
Audit costs and grant amounts are based on building size as follows:
|Building Size (sq ft)||Audit Cost||Grant (75%)||Owner (25%)|
|Up to 3000||$600||$450||$150|
|3001 – 6000||$900||$675||$225|
|6001 – 10000||$1,200||$900|
To apply, building owners should fill out the attached application form and return it by email to email@example.com or by mail to:
Alaska Energy Authority
Attn: Commercial Building Energy Audit Program
813 W. Northern Lights Blvd
Anchorage, AK 99503
Applications are due November 15, 2017. If an application is accepted the applicant will be notified by December 1, 2017 and required to pay the 25% of the audit cost to AEA by January 15, 2018. Once the payment is made AEA will coordinate with the applicant to schedule a time for the auditor to conduct the audit.
