Saving Lowell Point Road bridge

After several days of heavy rain, a swollen Lowell Creek turned dark with sediment, gravel, and rocks. Once again, Seward Public Works crews battled to save the Lowell Point Road bridge. On Thursday, an excavator scooped out the basin below the thundering Diversion Tunnel waterfall as a loader carried bucket after bucket-full across the road to add to a growing gravel mountain.

The forecast calls for a break in the rain, which will be greatly appreciated by all.

Thanks, as always, to the crew for their dedication and hard work!
