Winter temperatures over the last week have begun the process of dropping water levels and forming ice on many rivers in our area. Beginning today and continuing through this weekend much warmer temperatures and southerly winds will move back into the area. These rising freezing levels will be accompanied by rounds of heavy rain along the north Gulf coast beginning on Wednesday. The Seward and Cordova areas will likely see the brunt of the rain, with several inches of rain likely over the next few days. No flooding is expected, but water levels will definitely reverse their trend and begin to rise again. Anyone with boats or other property low on the riverbanks in the area should prepare for significantly rising water levels. $$
