New 1:00-ish Start Time for Mayor’s Cup Race on Saturday

The Seward Iditarod Trail Blazers are pleased to invite the community to attend the 19th Mayor’s Cup Race. Amateur sled drivers and their alternates will soon be selected for the exciting 2-mile ride behind a team of three professional sled dogs.

Cheer the mushers and enjoy a community bonfire with free hotdogs and hot drinks starting at noon on Saturday, April 1. Also at noon, the mushers will pick up their bibs and Race volunteers will receive their assignments. The Race will start at 1 pm or as soon as everything is ready.

Directions to Seavey’s Corner: turn onto Exit Glacier Road, aka Herman Leirer Road, go straight for 1.3 miles then turn right onto Old Exit Glacier Road just before the closed gate. Go another half mile to Seavey’s Corner.


Carpooling is recommended.
The Mushers’ Mixer for team owners, business representatives, and drivers is scheduled for Friday, March 31st at 6:30 pm at the First National Bank at Fourth and Adams.
