Seward City News is happy to announce the winner of our first, and probably not last, Crazy Snowfall Picture Contest.  Valerie Swinson of Seward submitted a picture of her father John’s Thunderbird under what appears to be about six feet of snow. Valerie will receive a $50 gift certificate to The Cookery restaraunt in downtown Seward.

As noted in our announcement of this contest, the entries were judged on the “Wow” factor that illustrated the magnitude of how much snow we got that week. We had some truly fantastic images sent our way, and if it were plainly a best image contest, the results might have been different.  So a big THANK YOU to everyone that sent in their pictures. The slideshow below  is a roll-up of the 25 best submissions for both snow depth and overall great pictures.

You will find all of the 80+ entries here.

This little contest went very well, and we look forward to doing it again in the future.
