Dr. Michael P. Moriarty was inducted as a Fellow of the International College of Dentists at its 87th. Annual Convocation in Denver, Colorado on October 21, 2016.
The International College of Dentists is described as the preeminent honor society for dentists that recognizes outstanding and meritorious service to the profession and the community. Induction into the College indicates that the inductee has brought “credit to the profession through devoted service and high ethical behavior.” Its Core Values are Integrity, Leadership, and Service.
In an impressive cap and gown ceremony, 320 dentists from the United States were inducted into the College at this year’s ceremony witnessed by hundreds of members and guests. The College, with representative chapters in more than 120 countries, has over 11,000 members, including 6,500 in the United States. Approximately only four percent (4%) of American dentists are offered a Fellowship.
Dr. Moriarty started practicing in Seward in 1991 with Dr. Warren Huss and began his solo career in 2004 when Dr. Huss retired. For over 25 years Dr. Moriarty has given back to the community through the Angel Tree Program, the Alaska SeaLife Center Rehab Run, Seward Young Life, Seward Boys & Girls Club, Alaska Mission of Mercy and more. He has served on various State and National dental boards including the Alaska Dental Society and the State of Alaska Board of Dental Examiners.
