It is a busy week of great community events in Seward, but we hope that you will find the time to join us for a movie this Friday Night. Premiering at 6pm we have a special pre-DVD release of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (PG-13/ 127 min) followed by War Dogs (R/114 min) at 8:30pm.
Admission is $2/person per movie – doors open at 5:30pm for Miss Peregrine’s and 8:00pm for War Dogs. Movies are shown at the UAF – Seward Marine Center on 3rd Ave at Railway.
Concessions provided by the Seward Prevention Coalition.
We are seeking voluneers to assist with ticket sales before or clean-up after this Friday’s movies. No experience required! Shifts are less than a hour and do not interfere with movie run-times, so you can volunteer AND watch the movies! Sign-up: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e094ea5ae2da2ff2-friday8
Seward Wellness for All is generously matching community donations to the movie series, up to $1500. A big THANK YOU to all those who have already contributed through the Movie Series ‘GoFundMe’ page. If you have not yet donated, please consider doing so. https://www.gofundme.com/201617-seward-winter-movie-series-2up554dz
Presented by the Seward Arts Council, the Movie Series features newer, feature films with a goal of providing safe and family friendly events in Seward during the winter months when there are limited opportunities for activities that the whole community can participate in. Two movies are shown each Friday- an earlier family-friendly movie (G/PG rated) and a later movie for young adults & community members (PG-13/R).
Thank you to our Partners in presenting the series: The Seward Prevention Coalition, Seward Wellness for All, and Seward Community Foundation!!!
