Local Band Blackwater Railroad Company Starts their Record Release Tour in Seward

Seward residents Katy Larkin, Tyson Davis, Andy Zamarripa, Noah Hull Diamond and Isaac London, known affectionately as Blackwater Railroad Company, are set to undertake their first state-wide tour in support of the new album, Sound of Home.

The new album was a labor of love featuring ten original songs like the band’s first single: Kids at Play.  You can listen to that song here!

The songs were recorded off the grid in a dry cabin in Anchor Point by Nashville superstar turned Seward it-girl Sunrisa Mack-Hansen.  Sunni was able to record, mix and engineer the entire album using a generator and coffeeshop wifi.

Sound of Home is an exploration and celebration of a place that drew these people together: Seward, Alaska.  The band decided to start and end the state-wide tour right here where it all began.  The Album Release Kickoff is on Wednesday, May 13th at Tony’s Bar.  You can RSVP to the event on Facebook.  You can also follow the tour by liking the band’s Facebook page at

If by some crazy chance you have to miss this momentus event, you can still get your copy of the Sound of Home in the Harbor at AK Starfish, or at any AK Starfish location across the state (
