Holland America/Princess (HAP) employees set aside Sunday, August 31, 2014 as their day to help the “He Will Provide” Food Bank by bringing canned goods and needed supplies for the community, and taking monetary donations.

The staff started off the day with a potluck lunch, celebrating the goodwill throughout the regular work day.  All employees of the HAP division were involved including the Motorcoach Drivers and Transportation Staff, Guest Services Hosts, Supervisors and Managers.

“This is a group effort to give back to our local community and make sure our families in Seward have additional stock for the beginning of winter,” stated Darcie Larson, Supervisor at HAP.  Together 394.5 pounds of food and $104 in monetary donations was donated.

“He Will Provide” Food Bank recently moved from its former Old Seward Highway location to the basement of the old Seward Community Library at the corner of Fifth and Adams.  The entrance, which is around back, opens into a shop quite a bit larger than the old building. The He Will Provide food pantry opens its doors once weekly for two hours at 3 p.m. on Thursdays. For information or to donate, call Sean Hansen at 907-491-1235.
