Crew is needed! Tell your friends! Traditionally, WHSYC combines this race with a fundraiser for Seward local causes. This year, the club will raise funds and foods to donate to Seward Food Pantry. Race winner earns the right to have her boat’s name inscribed on the Rum Doodle Cup trophy. The club does not charge an entry fee. Any sailing vessel regardless of size or type may race. Faster vessels carry a time handicap to account for their higher performance. WHSYC will host a party and BBQ afterwards at the clubhouse.
Skipper’s Meeting will be held on Saturday August 23 at the WHSYC clubhouse at
11:00 a.m. at 1400 Fourth Avenue, Seward, Alaska. Racing starts shortly thereafter.
Sailing instructions will be available at the Skipper’s Meeting. Saturday’s races will
be traditional windward-leeward mark rounding. International Sailing Federation racing rules will prevail.
Races will be conducted on the northern end of Resurrection Bay. The courses
will be determined at the Saturday Skipper’s Meeting.
Three races constitute a series. There will be one throw out.
