A one minute film created in 24 hours using one prompt – the Togo 24 Hour Sprint promises to be very popular amongst those participating in the Balto Film Fest. It affords a great opportunity to dip a toe in filmmaking to try out a new position or work with new people.
To qualify for competition, films must be one minute or under in length, shot with an Alaskan (to qualify as an Alaskan you have to be either Alaska-born, received an Alaska PFD, or held an Alaska Driver’s License/ID) resident, and use the above mentioned prompt.
Up to half an additional minute can be added in the TRT for closing credits. Closing credits must state, “Official Submission to Togo 24 Hour Sprint.
Submissions must be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 7:00 pm on Saturday, July 26th.
Please include in each submission: Name of filmmaker, contact e-mail address/phone number. A 300 dpi jpg file of an 8 x 10 film poster. Either a mp4 file or an electronic link to the film with any necessary passwords for its access. Name of Alaskan and how they qualify. Time locators for the prompt. A one sentence film synopsis.
Completed films will be screened for Audience Choice competition in Seward at the UAF K.M. Rae Bldg. at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday July 27th. Films will be screened by a Blue Ribbon panel for Judge’s Choice prior to the 27th.
Filmmakers must be present at the awards ceremony to win Judge’s Choice, but need not be present to win the Audience Choice Award.
