Seward, AK – July 23, 2014 – The Alaska SeaLife Center (ASLC) is proud to announce Alaskan artist Ray Troll as recipient of the 2014 Ocean Ambassador Award as part of the Alaska Ocean Leadership Awards.
The Ocean Ambassador Award was created to recognize an individual or organization that has made outstanding contributions in promoting public awareness and appreciation of Alaska’s oceans, coasts, and marine ecosystems. Through his artwork, Troll puts a creative and offbeat light on sustainable fishing and the use of Alaska’s marine resources.
The award ceremony will take place at the Alaska SeaLife Center on Monday, August 4 as part of SeaFest weekend celebrations. The day starts with a public book signing in the lobby from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm, with books available for purchase. At 6:00 pm, there will be a private ASLC members-only meet and greet. Ray Troll will be presented with the Ocean Ambassador Award in Rocky Coast at 7:00 pm. The ceremony is open to all paid ASLC guests and will be followed by a special slideshow by Ray Troll who will then be available for additional book signing.
