Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team, Type2 Press Release –
Still at 59% contained with 193,597 acres with 555 personnel. Fire behavior yesterday was limited to isolated smoldering pockets in very sheltered fuels with crews working in a grid fashion to identify and extinguish heat sources. The western flank is in monitor status and unstaffed. Structure protection continued for remote cabins in the eastern area of the refuge. Demobilization of crews for their next fire assignment has begun! The map has remained the same as the June 3, 2014 map given the lack of perimeter growth and no change in containment.
