What’s SOS Pets been up to?

Well, let me tell ya!  SOS Pets (Save our Seward Pets) has been busy in 2013 following our mission to support the Seward Animal Shelter and be an advocate for local pets. With help from a grant from the Seward Community Foundation, we were able to pay for the spays and neuters of 23 shelter animals. Another 24 local animals were also altered thanks to our voucher program.

We’ve been building partnerships with other local organizations. Not only did the SCF show their support, we also teamed with the Rotary Club for the Rubber Ducky Race. SOS Pets joined with the Lions Club to provide pet food to the local food bank and works with Cause for Paws to raise money for a new shelter.

In June we had our second annual Microchipping Clinic and Pet Pageant where we microchipped 15 dogs and cats. In December Santa visited for pet photos. Both events raised money for our spay and neuter programs and collected donations for the pet food bank.

SOS Pets is able to do the great things it does thanks to YOUR support and donations. As March comes to a close so does registration for the PFD. Please think of SOS Pets when you chose your Pick.Click.Give organizations to support.

Thanks, Seward. See ya at the Fur Ball!
