Join the Skiesta and help support the Seward Animal Shelter

Seward folks, come one, come all and join the “Skiesta!” (just think fiesta with skis!). Skiesta is a fun fundraiser for the Seward Animal Shelter. It will be held on Saturday March 22nd at noon on Exit Glacier Road. Participants will ski, walk, snowshoe, run, crawl, etc. down Exit Glacier road and be entertained with some Mexican themed stations along the way. There is no entrance fee but participants are encouraged to make a monetary donation to the shelter or to bring a much needed supply like canned cat or dog food, cat litter pellets, or dish/laundry soap. It is an out and back course and you can go as far as you like, but the stations will end and turnaround at the Forest Service gate about 2.25 miles down the road. This event will be held rain or shine; so don those skis, wind and weather proof clothing, bring the kids, friends, and family (and well-behaved leashed pets too!) and join us in supporting the animals of Seward.
If you are interested in helping put on this event, volunteers of all types are needed (set-up/clean-up, donation of food/supplies for stations, and folks to man some of the stations). Please contact Stephanie Wright at 330-283-7542 to help out!

Great things happen when the community gets together!
