Seward Community Health Center’s Board of Director’s would like to announce the appointment of Patrick Linton from Kamuel, HI, as their new Executive Director. Linton has a MS degree in Hospital and Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota and most recently served as the CEO for the Hamakua Health Center in HI.  Mr. Linton has extensive experience in healthcare systems predominantly focused on meeting the needs of rural populations and communities.  In addition to Patrick Linton other staff hired by the Health Center include, Bonnie Apperson and Anna Madosik front desk Receptionists, Charmaine Blaine Billing Specialist, Andra Woodard Outreach Worker and Jennifer Greene RN/Clinical Support supervisor.  James Frey, PA will be joining the staff as a locum provider.

SCHC opened its doors to patients on March 10 and since then has begun collaborative discussions with a number of specialty providers, outside the Seward area, to enhance the primary care services provided by the Health Center.  The intent is to be able to offer these services at the Health Care site in Seward eliminating the need for patients to travel to Anchorage or Soldotna.  Currently, those specialty services include Dr. Hawthorne with the Women’s Health Service of The Peninsula, Orthopedic Physicians of Anchorage, and an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist in Anchorage. There have also been collaborative inquiries from Public Health and Sea View.


Seward Community Health Center accepts patients of all ages and offers a sliding fee discount program to anyone who qualifies.  For more information on appointments and the discount program contact the Health Center at 224-2273.  Center is opened Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and on Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am to 7 pm.
