TinaMcLeanTina McLean, Clinic Director of Advanced Physical Therapy, has resigned her position with the company effective Friday, February 21st.    Transitional tasks for converting the business from Active Abilities Physical Therapy  in Seward, which sold in October,  to that of Advanced Physical Therapy, owned by Valerie Phelps of Anchorage, have essentially been completed.  Tina and her staff have worked diligently over the past five months to complete transitional tasks as smoothly as possible for local customers.  A few exceptions remain with open accounts for Active Abilities PT.  Advanced PT of Anchorage will be working on new signs and completing their role in assuming the business over the coming weeks.

I regret that I will no longer be involved in patient care in Seward.  The new company and I had come to a point where it was time to complete the transitional activities and for me to move on.   I feel Advanced PT and the local staff will do a great job carrying forward the work that I started 17 years ago.  They have a great staff here and have every opportunity at providing excellence in Orthopedic and Sports physical therapy here in Seward.  I wish them all my best.

Remaining Account payments for Active Abilities Physical Therapy for dates of service prior to October 1st, 2013 should be sent to:

Active Abilities Physical Therapy

PO Box 783

Seward, AK 99664.

For those of you with open accounts you will continue to receive your statements from Active Abilities Physical Therapy.  All accounts will be required to be paid in full no later than April 30, 2014.  For Inquiries regarding your account balances or to make payments with your credit card over the phone please call the new number of:

362-0087.

Any accounts with Advanced Physical Therapy will be billed and collected solely through Advanced Physical Therapy.  At the request of Advanced Physical Therapy you will be unable to continue making payments or making inquiries regarding any Active Abilities Physical Therapy accounts at the prior office located at 11724 Seward Hwy/Walaska Center or via the prior business phone number.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please feel free to give me a call should you have any questions regarding your Active Abilities’ Account.  I will be happy to assist you in making this transition as smoothly as possible.

Most of all I thank each of you for your patronage over the past 17 years.  You have been the source of my energy and the joy of my life’s work.  I will miss you all immensely!

Truly,

Tina McLean, PT, ATC

  • We will miss you. You are too young to retire! Remember-the defination- Retire: “to get a new set of tires”

  • So True Brent. I’m not truly retiring (or retreating)just changing directions! I will miss you all too!!:)

  • I cannot tell you how much the entire Seward High community appreciates your contribution to our success. The kids, coaches, parents, staff, and I will most certainly miss you and wish you the best on your new directions.

  • Thank you Treven. I will miss working with such a great group of kids. I have been so blessed with being able to work with the Seward High School staff, parents and kids for many years. It was certainly one of the highlights of my time in Seward.

Many heartfelt thanks to all of you who have called, sent emails, and cards wishing me well and prayers for my father-in-law.

Someone asked me once just after coming back in 2009, “Why did you come back to Seward after such disaster out the road?”. Since coming back there have been so many answers to that question that supported my decision to come back. As we have all seen this past year in the loss of so many we have loved, the only answer remains…….Seward is my family.

Thank you all so much. Scott and I will be leaving in August to be with our other families but we most certainly hope to be back. Though I won’t be ‘working’ officially as your therapist, I look forward to many more years as a part of this community in the next ‘phase’ of our being together!

    Much love and gratitude, tina
