The Seward F&G Advisory Committee will meet 7 p.m. Wednesday January 15, 2014 at the Community Library. We will hear reports from the recent Board of Fish meeting and other matters of local interest. Plans will be started for the Kid’s Fishing Day in May.
It is also election time. The public is invited to nominate and select individuals to fill one third of the local committee for a three year term. Anyone from the Seward, Moose Pass, and Hope area is welcome to participate in the process. The F&G AC solicits local comments and advises the Boards of Fish and Game and the Department of F&G on matters that affect our area. This is especially important when new regulations are being considered. The local committee seeks to represent the many users of fish and game. This includes commercial fishermen as well as sports, subsistence, and personal users; bird watchers, hunters, conservationists, wildlife viewers, and trappers are also among those represented.
The local area residents in attendance will nominate and vote in the candidates of their choice.
