Duane K. LeVan, Seward resident since 1946, passed away peacefully early this morning at Providence Seward.  He was 87 years old, a WWII veteran, an avid hunter and outdoorsman, and a very good person.   He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sanna, and his son Mel LeVan and daughter Sue McClure, as well as grandsons Bixler McClure, Axl LeVan and Jon LeVan.  He will be missed by the community, and by the family.  The family wishes to thank Providence Seward for the wonderful care he had during his brief stay at the facility.

  • Duane was a great man in every way. He was a good friend and co worker with my dad James Shea. Longshoreman. I had the pleasure as a young girl to work with Fern Burke who did a shop at the dock. I have always loved watching him and Sanna walk everyday holding hands always smiling and waving at everyone. A great man. May you walk with the angels. Thanks for always saying hi and always with a smile. Love sent to you and yours. Godsend to the next journey.
