One never knows what one might see on Resurrection Bay!
Today at noon, I noticed two small specks in the bay with a stunning backdrop of glowering clouds pierced by radiating rays of sunshine, and the silhouettes of Fox Island and Resurrection Peninsula. As they steadily approached, I could see tiny figures apparently standing on the water, wielding paddles. It was a remarkable sight!
It wasn’t long before they stroked along the Greenbelt pathway, landed, and loaded up their paddleboards. I was pleased to talk to locals Bryan and Aaron Thrall. They thoroughly enjoyed the trip from Lowell Point on calm seas even though it hailed and rained at the start.
An unusual sight now, even in the summer, perhaps Resurrection Bay will be the next hot spot for this exciting new sport!
