New bleachers will be installed in the AVTEC gymnasium beginning October 7th. The gymnasium is expected to remain open during the construction.
The Seahawk Spirit Scamper was a huge success. Participants and volunteers seemed to have a great time and SPRD was happy to help support the Seward Seahawks! We hope this is a new tradition that will continue for many years to come.

Family Masquerade Ball: Saturday, October 26th 7 to 9pm. Following the Pumpkin Prowl walk on over to the Seward Resort and do the Monster Mash, win spooktacular prizes & don’t forget your costume!! Seward Archery League begins Tuesday Nov 5 – Nov 26 2nd session will be Jan 7th – Mar 12th Tuesdays & Wednesdays 6 – 9pm at the Railroad terminal. Dust off your bow and arrows and come down to the Railroad Terminal for some target practice! Two sessions available: Session 1: Nov 5-Nov 26 (4 weeks). Session 2: Jan 7-Mar 12 (10 weeks). Cost is $5 to drop in or $15 for 1st session. 2nd session: $5 to drop in or $40 for Tuesdays only, $40 for Wednesdays only, $75 for both Tuesday andWednesday. Participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment but some equipment can be made available. Bows should be 70lbs and lower. NO crossbows! League is open to 16yrs and up (16 & 17 year olds welcome with an adult). End-of-Season Round Robin style tournament. March 12th. After School Program: The Teen & Youth Center staff is proud to offer this high quality, fairly priced, fun-filled program for elementary youth. A.S.P. emphasizes creative arts, sports, outdoor play, music appreciation, computers and social enhancement.
Schedule for Grades K to 6: Monday to Friday 3 to 5:30.
School’s Out Day Camps: 7:45 am to 5:30 pm. Separate registration and fees required for camps. Parents: Children must be picked up no later than 5:30 pm. Age Divisions for ASP! Some events will be separated by age for kids’ enjoyment & safety. Evening Teen Time Hours:
5:30-10pm Tuesday-Thursday and 5:30-11pm on Fridays and Saturdays (open to Middle School through High School). Pool, board games, card games, xBox, Wii, movies, karaoke, tourneys, baking and more offered!

We have switched to winter camping rates. Use Res area 1 through 98. No water available. Self- contained units only. No Tents allowed Park areas close at dusk. Citizens, Little League and Jon Perry Fields are closed until next spring. Please report problems to 224-4055
The Seward Recreation Committee will meet on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 6 p.m. at the Seward Community Library Museum on the second floor in Room 205. The Library Museum is located at 239 Sixth Avenue. All public is welcome to attend.
