How many pizzas would you need if you wanted each kid to have three pieces of pizza and there were 47 kids? This is the math problem Angie Hammer and I needed to figure out this week in order to reward our hard-working Seward Silvers.
Yesterday math teachers Angie Hammer and I (Naomi Wade) had a pizza party at lunch for students who had turned in all their math assignments so far this quarter. We had a great group of kids—over half of the students got to partake in this tasty repast.
Thank you to the Eureka Pizza Company for the bulk discount and for coming in early to make the pizzas in time for lunch. Thank you to all the students who worked hard to get in their work—and to the parents who helped out at home. Thank you also, to Angie Hammer for coming up with this idea!
At the end of the second quarter we are going to offer another reward—this time a pool party. We are hoping for an even greater turn-out next time!
