Here is an update of progress on the mural that the city of Seward is giving to its sister-city, Obihiro.
The Japanese artists gathered around for introductions and instructions for painting the panels. We were provided with a spacious public works garage in which to work.
Bethany Waggoner, one of the art delegates from Seward, shows Japanese artists how she wants them to paint the mural. Japanese are very disciplined, listened carefully and did a fine job.
Justine Pechuzal, the Master Artist for the mural, demonstrates a technique to the Japanese artists who eagerly wait to paint.
They signed each other’s T-shirts before beginning to paint. Josh Neta, on the Right, is the international relations person for Obihiro and our translator.
