Seward Students:  Is Art in your Summer Plans?

Each year the Seward Arts Council awards a variety of scholarships for local students who are pursuing the arts.   Seniors are eligible to apply for a $500.00 scholarship to offset college costs.

Students in 6th-9th grade this year had the opportunity to apply for a two week scholarship to Alaska’s “Sitka Fine Arts Camp.”  The scholarship was awarded to Bijou Burnard and a generous community family donated the airfare to the camp this year.  Many thanks to the wonderful anonymous people who made this happen.

Right now is the time to apply for our last scholarship of the season, the summer arts class scholarship.   If you are in grades K-12 this year in Seward or Moose Pass you are eligible to apply.   Scholarship forms will be available at the Library and all three school front desks and behind the counter at Resurrect Art.  All forms must be mailed by  May 17th to be considered.  If you are taking dance lessons, Bluegrass camp, learning piano,  doing a painting workshop, taking D’vinci camp, all of these activities and more can be offset with a scholarship.
