Seward has new representation in the Alaska Legislature this year due to redistricting. The new district is N 28. N is the Seward Senate district. We are being represented by Senator Cathy Giessel. Her contact information in Juneau is: 800-892-4843. The number 28 stands for the Seward House District. Representative Mike Chenault, who is also the Speaker of the House, is Seward’s new representative. Representative Chenault’s toll free # is 800-469-3779. The Legislature is in full swing and holding many hearings that constituents’ can access via teleconference.

The first teleconferenced Constituents’ meeting of the 28th Legislative Session is scheduled for February 7, 2013. The meeting will be hosted by Representatives Chenault, Seaton and Olson and Senators Giessel and Micciche. The meeting starts at 6 pm and ends at 7 pm. The teleconference meeting will be held at the Seward Legislative Information office located at 302 Railway Avenue, Suite 107.
