Rangers patrol Kenai Fjords National Park’s coastal backcountry in Aialik Bay.

ANILCA local hiring authority job postings for  a Park Ranger (General), GS-0025-07 position at Kenai Fjords National Park will be available beginning Thursday, January 17, 2013 with a closing date of Friday, February 1, 2013.  This position will work with the Visitor and Resource Protection team as a backcountry ranger.  Responsibilities include education contacts and boat and foot patrol throughout the park.

The definition of a “local” for consideration under this hiring authority is a U.S. citizen who, by reason of having either lived or worked in or near Kenai Fjords National Park (communities of Seward and Moose Pass extending north to Milepost 45 of the Seward Highway), has acquired special knowledge or expertise regarding the natural or cultural resources of the park.
