Avalanche Awareness Class Sat 1/5/13 Seward

I will be putting on a second Free Avalanche Awareness Class Saturday 1/5 at Seward Mountain Haven from 9am- till around 3pm.  This class will be in the Commons building first on Left.  The class will be open to anyone who wants to attend to learn about avalanche safety or wants a review if you have had avalanche classes before.  We will cover Human Factors, Terrain, Weather and Snowpack Evaluation, and finally avalanche rescue techniques including avalanche beacon use.  The avalanche beacon practice will be outside for a couple of hours so bring some warm clothes, lunch,  and your avalanche beacon if you have one.   For more information contact me at (907) 288-7710 and I will call you back.

Direction: Seward Mountain Haven (2203 Oak St.)  Take Hemlock Ave off Seward Hwy in Seward, Right on Dimond Blvd, left at Y onto Ash St., then Left on Oak St.

Thanks and hope to see you there!  ( I had a lot of people miss the 1st class and requested a second one so here it is!)
