Large Black Bear making rounds downtown
Campers and late night walkers watch out for a large black bear in the downtown area. It was seen around 2nd Avenue on Sunday night and on the corner of 4th and Madison around 1130 pm last night. Not intimidated by large dogs, yelling, or noise in general.

Be aware of your sorrounding when walking downtown in the evenings. This bear is finding food so will come back for more.

Large Black Beer on ‘Bear’ Drive. 1am-2am, on our back porch, took some items left out side. Reminder to us all, bear proof your yards, cars, decks from all temptations, especially garbage.

But what do you do when you have ‘bear proofed’ everything and this fearless creature RIPS the locked door of your freezer open and proceeds to help himself to a late night snack? Then goes back for seconds and even thirds ;}

The bears are definitely bold this year. The fearless downtown black tore a screen door trying to get in a house on 2nd avenue. I’m told the police were involved in scaring it away.
