Resolution 2009-097, Authorizing The City Manager To Submit To The State Of Alaska A Grant Application For A Federal Grant For Providing Public Access To The Seward Cemetery Information Requesting $8,881, Including $5,329 Federal Share And $3,552 Applicant Share In The Form Of In-Kind Volunteer Labor.

Resolution 2009-099, Authorizing The City Manager To Terminate The Lease With Women’s Division Of The Board Of Global Ministries Of The United Methodist Church For Lots 19, 20 And 21 Of The Marathon Addition To The City Of Seward, Effective October 15, 2009

SEWARD CITY COUNCIL NOTICE OF VACANCY
The Seward City Council is seeking applications from city residents interested in serving on the City Council. One seat has become available with the election of Willard E. Dunham as Mayor, with a term to expire October of 2010.
The qualifications to serve are; you must be an elector of the city and shall have resided within the city continuously for a period of not less than one year immediately preceding the date of filing.
The Council meets regularly on the second and fourth Monday of each month beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers and at such other times as may be requested by the Mayor or Administration.
Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk. Completed application forms and conflict of interest statements must be filed with the Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Applicants will also be asked to produce a written cover letter regarding their qualifications and interest in serving on the Council. The City Council will select an applicant who will serve until the next regular city election in October, 2010 at their regularly scheduled meeting on October 26, 2009.

Vacancies on the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission and the Historic Preservation Commission
There is currently one seat vacant on the Planning and Zoning Commission, with a term expiring February 2012, open to those who reside in city limits. There is currently one seat vacant on the Historic Preservation Commission, with a term expiring May 2010, open to residents of Seward and the surrounding area. Please pick up applications at the Office of the City Clerk, Monday through Friday, 8-5, or feel free to stop by if you have any questions.
