kiska1.jpgPet of the Week: Kiska is an 8-month old spayed female Malamute mix.  This sweet girl loves to play with people and other dogs.  She is fine around kids and cats too!

Don’t Delay! 2009 Seward City Dog Licenses are in and available for purchase.  City licenses are issued yearly and required for all dogs living within the city limits of Seward.  The fee is $5.00 for spayed and neutered dogs if purchased before February 1st.  An additional $5.00 for intact dogs and $5.00 late charge after Feb. 1st.  Licenses can be purchased at the Seward Animal Shelter, The Seward Animal Clinic and the City Utility Counter.  Bring proof of your dog’s current rabies vaccination too!

Scoop your Dog’s Poop!  Animal Control has been noticing some toxic yards around town!  Get out there and scoop your pets poop while it’s still frozen- Makes for a near odorless, low mess experience!  We recommend using a bucket lined with a plastic garbage bag and a shovel- Just chip up those poop cubes and toss them in the bucket!  Keep a lidded bucket near your dogs pooping area and scoop the poop regularly!  It’s neighborly, kind to your dog, esthetically more pleasant, good responsible dog ownership and it’s also required by city ordinance.  So, if it doesn’t get done, you may find yourself visited by your friendly animal control officer with her ticket book….
