Wheelchair Basketball Expo Coming to Seward!

Challenge Alaska athletes will bring an intense wheelchair basketball exposition game to Seward as part of the Wells Fargo Polar Bear Jump Off Basketball Tourney. The wheelchair expo will be held at Seward High School gym starting around 4 pm on Saturday, January 3. It will follow the now-popular Top Gun competition. The expo is free to the public, as is spectator seats for any tournament game and the Top Gun show.

In addition to watching and learning the rules of wheelchair basketball, interested adults may be able to attend a quick clinic and strap in to a sports chair to try their hand at this sport that’s more demanding than it looks.

We are looking for a huge Seward welcome to these athletes, most of whom will travel from Anchorage for the Expo. Please help spread the word and offer a ride to folks for some or all of the expo, Top Gun and the Wells Fargo Polar Bear Jump Off tourney. This basketball tournament has morphed through several names or sponsors, but the tradition of the January Seward tourney hosting adult recreational basketball teams from across Alaska is set in tradition of over 25 years!
