Resolution 2007-060, Authorizing The City Manager To Proceed With The Acquisition Of Land (Griswold property), Comprising Approximately 9.11 (+/-) Acres Of The Southwest Corner Of The Unsubdivided Remainder Of U.S.S. 1864, As Reflected In The U.S.S. 1864 KPB Replat, Plat No. 2004-03, Inclusive Of Right-Of-Ways Of Approximately 1.11 (+/-) Acres Extending South From The Intersection Of Oak Street And Hemlock Street And Such Additional Right-Of-Ways To Provide Connecting Access To The 8 Acre Portion Of The Property, And Appropriating Funds For The Future Long Term Care Site For A Purchase Price Of $830,000.00.

The following Resolutions were approved:
Resolution 2007-061, Authorizing The City Manager To Enter Into A Mutual Aid Agreement Between The City Of Seward And The Lowell Point Emergency Service Area For The Purpose Of Firefighting And Rescue Operations.
Resolution 2007-062, Authorizing The City Manager To Enter Into A Settlement Agreement To Resolve An Employment Dispute For A Total Of $50,000.00.
The June 11, 2007 regular city council meeting minutes were approved.
A Work Session On The Library/Museum Project was scheduled for September 24, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.
Discussion Ensued On The Lowell Canyon Tunnel Hydro Project and Administration was going to provide more information to PACAB.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Seward City Council will conduct a public hearing on the following items of business at its regular meeting of July 9, 2007.
Ordinance 2007-003, An Ordinance Of The City Council Of The City Of Seward, Alaska, Amending The Land Use Plan And The Rezoning Of Lots 1-9 Block 8, Original Townsite Of Seward, From Auto Commercial (AC) To Central Business District (CBD).
Essential terms and conditions of leases and all other pertinent copies of public hearing documents are available for review at the city clerk office.
The public hearing will commence at 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as business permits, in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 410 Adams Street, Seward. SEWARD PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
NOTICE OF VACANCY
The City Council is seeking applications from city residents interested in serving on the Seward Planning and Zoning Commission. There is one seat available with a term to expiring February 2008.
Planning and Zoning (P&Z) holds regular meetings on the 1st Tuesday of every month and work sessions the 3rd Tuesday of every month or at other times as needed if requested by the Chair.
Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk. Completed application forms and conflict of interest statements must be filed with the Clerkno later than 5:00 p.m. Friday June 29, 2007 . Applicants will be asked to make a short presentation to the City Council at its July 9, 2007 meeting regarding their qualifications and interest in serving on the Commission. Later that evening the City Council will select an applicant to serve a term that expires February 2008.
PORT AND COMMERCE ADVISORY BOARD
NOTICE OF VACANCY
The City Council is seeking applications from citizens of Seward and the surrounding area, interested in serving on the Port and Commerce Advisory Board (PACAB). There currently is one seat vacant and two seats becoming vacant in July.
The PACAB meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month during the lunch hour from 12:00 to 1:00 pm., or at other times as needed if requested by the Chair.
Application forms are available in the Office of the City Clerk. Completed application forms must be filed with the Clerk. Applicants will be asked to make a short presentation to the City Council regarding their qualifications and interest in serving on the Board at the next scheduled meeting after application is received. The City Council can then appoint up to three applicants to serve terms expiring July 2010.
HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
NOTICE OF VACANCY
The City Council is seeking applications from those interested in serving on the Historic Preservation Commission. Membership on the Commission is open to residents of Seward and the surrounding area. There is one seat vacant.
The Historic Preservation Commission meets at least twice a year in the City Council Chambers and at such other times as may be requested by the Commission Chair or the Administration.
There is one commission seats vacant, with a term expiring May 2009. Application forms are available in the office of the City Clerk. Completed applications must be filed with the office of the City Clerk no later than5:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2007 . In addition, applicants are asked to address the Council at its July 23, 2007 meeting regarding their qualifications to serve on the Commission. Later that evening the City Council will select two applicants to serve until May 2010.
