10:25 a.m. Caller requested an Officer to bunkhouse. He was packing his items to leave when one of the floor managers grabbed him by the throat and threw him up against a cabinet. Officers responded to location and it was determined that the incident took place in Trooper territory. Sgt Leath was advised. 3:05 p.m. Citation issued to Angela Buck, no age given, for speeding. 3:18 p.m. Citation issued to Debbie Rotstein, no age given, for speeding. 5:08 p.m. Reporting party of 2nd Avenue advised he has no water at his residence. Contacted waste/water, who will respond. 6:30 p.m. State Troopers requested medical to Preacher’s Pond for a subject laying on the ice with his head in a hole. Dispatched Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Advised relatives were there and stated it was someone fishing and all was OK. 7:59 p.m. Reporting party wanted to let everyone know about 3 moose in the Forest Acres area. He let his dog out and the moose kicked the dog when the dog ran up to the moose. Dispatch suggested ways to keep the dog from getting kicked by putting the dog on a leash when he has it outside, until he knows there are not moose in the yard. 11:40 p.m. State Troopers advised of a dark blue, four-door, unknown plate, with 6 juveniles in it, appeared to be drinking at Mile 5 Seward Highway, possibly headed northbound. Officers advised. 11:47 p.m. Citation issued to Hughie Wilder III, no age given, for headlight.

12:02 a.m. State Troopers advised of 911 hangup at 4th Avenue. Callback revealed that reporting party was trying to call a report of several juveniles who left in a red Jeep heading into town. Officers responded and made contact with juvenile at Seward and North Harbor. Subject was cited for Minor Consuming Alcohol and Minor Operating after Consuming Alcohol. 12:22 a.m. Officer heard someone yelling for help near Gateway Texaco and responded. Officer advised male was assaulted and suspect was heading southbound. Officer made contact with juvenile subject. Victim was transported to Providence Seward Medical Center by another Officer. Juvenile was charged with fourth-degree Assault and Minor Consuming Alcohol and transported to Seward Community Jail. 11:14 a.m. State Troopers reported they received a call regarding two males who exited a white Dodge truck with a shotgun. There was a pod of sea lions in the bay and the caller was concerned for their safety. Location was halfway down Lowell Point Road. Officers responded to area. Found to be an Alaska Native who was harvesting an otter. Subject was advised not to shoot within the city limits. 2:18 p.m. Officer contacted manager of Seward Ships Drydock and advised that industrial debris was against their fence and it should be cleaned up before it blows into the water. 3:36 p.m. Intoxicated individual was reported in front of downtown hotel and was creating a disturbance. Individual was described as a white male wearing blue jeans, black jacket and carrying a red backpack. Officer contacted the individual in the lobby of City Hall, and he was taken into Protective Custody. Portable Breath Test registered .183. 4:11 p.m. Reporting party advised of a male having abdominal pain, possible bowel obstruction. Responding to the Wesley Care Center. 9:41 p.m. Fire alarms sounding at Clearview Haven on Bear. Reporting party advised there is no fire but the alarms will not shut off. Contacted on-duty officer. Responded with engine 4. Everything is fine; alarms reset.

4:12 p.m. Citation issued to Stacie McGinness, no age given, for parking where prohibited. 4:14 p.m. Citation issued to Bruce Trengove, no age given, for parking where prohibited. 4:42 p.m. Reporting party advised possible pedophile contacted her. 8:11 p.m. Josephine Keller, no age given, arrested for fourth-degree assault and transported to Seward Community Jail. 8:49 p.m. Reporting party advised she was getting threatening calls from Josephine Keller tonight and last night. Advised the officer. 9:30 p.m. Reporting party at the Yukon advised there are two females fighting in a cab out front. Officer responded and contacted subjects, who were criminally trespassed indefinitely from the Yukon. 10:01 p.m. Citation issued to Melvin R. Kane, no age given, for speed.

12 a.m. Female advised her son was giving her a difficult time and she wanted him removed from the apartment at Pacific Park Apt. Officer responded and subject left without incident. 9:11 a.m. Citation issued to Charles DiMarzio, no age given, for speed. 11:24 p.m. Panko, no age or first name given, was incarcerated at Seward Community Jail for warrant #3an0509122, $500.00 Failure to Satisfy. Wilson, no age or first name given, was incarcerated at Seward Community Jail for sixth-degree Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance.

12:40 a.m. State Troopers requested an officer to bunkhouse on Lowell Point Road in reference a fight between two males with a knife. Officer responded. No charges were pressed. 10:44 a.m. Reporting party advised that his nephew was attempting to break into his apartment. Officer responded. Contacted subject who was trying to retrieve his belongings, will contact his uncle later. 11:47 a.m. Reporting party advised his pipes are frozen on 6th and Adams. Contacted on-call water, he will go and check it out. 2:01 p.m. Reporting party at Three Bears advised there are two intoxicated males passed out in the back of an employee’s vehicle. Officer responded and placed both into protective custody. 3:02 p.m. Reporting party advised of a 53-year-old male with a broken leg up in the Grandview Portage area. Contacted State Troopers and advised. 4:40 p.m. Earthquake, preliminary magnitude 7.3 located near Vanuatu Islands. No tsunami. 4:42 p.m. Earthquake, preliminary magnitude 7.1 located near Honshu, Japan. No tsunami. 6:22 p.m. Officer moved several rocks on Lowell Point Road. 10:32 p.m. Officer made contact with intoxicated pedestrian who fell outside of the bars and hit his head and refused medical attention. Cab went to take him to his residence. 11:03 p.m. Reporting party reported two males wearing dark clothing that were sneaking around residences at 4th Avenue heading southbound. Officers responded.

March 25, 2007

3:57 a.m. Richard Setters, no age given, was arrested for State Troopers Warrant 3SW06413, No Bail, Failure To Appear, Original Charge fifth-degree Criminal Mischief, and was transported to Seward Community Jail. 5:17 p.m. Wesley Rehab requested ambulance for a 71-year-old female with elevated temperature and shortness of breath. 6:37 p.m. Reporting party from the Yukon advised of a male who broke the windows out of a purple Chevy truck parked on the side of the Yukon. Stated it was his truck. The suspect is big, wearing a dark blue hoodie, brown hair, beard and a bloody hand. Northbound on 4th Avenue. 7:31 p.m. Officer dispatched a moose with a broken leg near Briarwood. Charity was called and responded.

5:31 p.m. Reporting party from Dimond advised of a dog that is loose and he cannot let his dogs out when it’s there. Contacted animal control officer. 6:32 p.m. Reporting party advised of a juvenile female at Pacific Park Apartments that has her hand caught in a treadmill. Officer also responded to assist.

March 27, 2007

4 p.m. Reporting party of Bayside has been “egged” again while parked on Van Buren side of apartments. 8:50 p.m. Michael Allen Dean, no age given, was issued a summons for Driving While License Suspended (out of Oregon) and No Vehicle Insurance, after investigation of a hit and run on Lowell Point Road by the waterfall. 9:10 p.m. Citation issued to Jonathan Lo, no age given, for proof of insurance.

March 28, 2007

9:11 a.m. Alarm sounding at the Seward High School. Seward Volunteer Fire Department and Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded. 11:23 a.m. Alarm company stated they had received a silent panic alarm from Spenard Builders. State Troopers were advised and requested assistance from SPD since their Trooper was enroute from Cooper Landing. Officers advised. Dispatch phoned SBS and they had changed the batteries in the smoke detectors which triggered an alarm. Officers and Troopers were advised. 12:22 p.m. Reporting party advised of two native males who had what looked like a bag of marijuana and were headed north on 4th. One is wearing a yellow windbreaker and the other is wearing a green windbreaker. Officer responded to location and was unable to locate the individuals. 6:30 p.m. 911 call – Juvenile advised that her father was intoxicated and trashing the apartment. Officer responded. Contacted subjects and advised a disturbance only. 8:28 p.m. Multiple 911 calls for a structure fire at the Seaview center. Everyone acounted for.

March 29, 2007

2:08 p.m. Reporting party advised she backed into another vehicle in the Safeway parking lot. There was minor damage only. Officer was advised and they were told to come to the station for accident report forms. 11:10 p.m. Reporting party advised of a bright light in the sky slowly moving on Nash Road. Officer advised.

March 30, 2007

1:15 a.m. Reporting party from Bear Mountain Apt. requested assistance with a tenant who had water coming from their apartment and would not answer the door. Officer responded. 3:45 a.m. Reporting party advised a moose was struck by the train at mile 5.2 and is still on the tracks. State Troopers advised and charity was called and responded. 6:38 a.m. Reporting party advised of four-wheelers in the alley behind the Phoenix building on 3rd Ave. Caller is tired of the noise and traffic so early in the morning. Officer responded and subjects were gone on arrival.
