7:12 p.m. Reporting party saw juveniles carrying a TV on Third or Fourth off Railway. Officer responded. 7:53 p.m. Jail smoke alarm went off from showers. 9:48 p.m. Alarm sounding at Three Bears. Officers responded.

3:44 a.m. Reporting party reported a window broken out at the Crab Pot. Officer responded. 6:34 a.m. Report of a 5.3 earthquake located near Chignik, AK. No tsunami reported. 7:30 a.m. Reporting party advised of a male in the Harbormaster’s Office restroom. Officer responded and advised person was in there going to restroom and warming up till Breeze Inn Restaurant opened. 2:19 p.m. Reporting party advised that a subject was driving intoxicated from Seward Marine Industrial Center. Officer contacted vehicle on Old Nash Road. Driver was negative for DUI. Jonathan Cosio, no age given, was arrested by summons for Driving While License Revoked. Citation was issued for open container. 4:21 p.m. Reporting party advised the flag at the Post Office was about to fly off. Contacted postmaster who responded. 6:49 p.m. Citations issued to Eric Gardner, no age given, for proof of insurance and driving without valid license. Verbal Warning for faulty headlight. 10:55 p.m. Guardian Security reported an entry alarm sounding at the American Legion. Officers responded and advised building was secured.

5:28 p.m. Ambulance requested to a location on Ballaine for an elderly woman who has fallen with minor injuries. Seward Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded. 6:21 p.m. Reporting party called and said her mother was not breathing. SVAC and officer responded.

Jan. 9, 2007

6:55 a.m. Report of a 5.7 earthquake located 55 miles west of Haines. No tsunami reported. 3:38 p.m. Railroad employee reported that one of the arms on the gate at Nash Road is broken. They will have it fixed tomorrow. 3:49 p.m. Report of 8 to 10 horses loose on Phoenix Road. Neighbors rounded the horses up and put them back in the corral. 4:16 p.m. Traffic control requested at three bridges for vehicle blocking roadway. Officer responded to assist with traffic control. 5:55 p.m. Trooper requested assistance from SVAC and Bear Creek Volunteer Fire Department for a welfare check at the top of Camelot. SVAC and BCVFD were toned out. 9:59 p.m. Male subject was placed into protective custody from the Yukon Bar. 11:27 p.m. Reporting party said there was a red light and alarm at Ray’s restaurant. Officer checked and building is secured. Dispatch advised contact person who will respond.

Jan. 10, 2007

10:38 a.m. 911 call/non-emergency: emergency button was accidentally activated in the elevator at the Senior Center. 12:29 p.m. Citation issued to Chris Carlson, no age given, for failure to carry proof of insurance. Verbal warning for speed. 1:22 p.m. Ambulance requested to the High School for a report of a 17-year-old male who fell off the shoulders of another student. Patient was conscious, breathing and complaining of back pain. SVAC responded. 2:08 p.m. Motorhome fire reported at Mile 6 Seward Highway. No injuries reported. BCVFD, SVAC and Alaska State Troopers responded. 2:24 p.m. Coast Guard Cutter Mustang will be conducting a drill at sea involving a smoke machine. They will call when they are done. 3:04 p.m. Cutter Mustang is done with fire drill at sea. 3:52 p.m. Reporting party advised of a horse loose on Phoenix. Dispatch contacted the horses’ owners. 5:03 p.m. Female was placed into protective custody from her residence in Camelot, pending an Ex Parte order. Response form faxed to BCVFD. 4:43 p.m. Male subject was placed into protective custody from the Yukon Bar. Portable breath test registered .201. 6:28 p.m. Citation issued to Wade William Lawrence, no age given, for No Proof of Insurance. Verbal warning issued for driving without headlights. 9:41 p.m. Grinnell advised of a fire alarm at Icicle Seafoods (Seward Fisheries). Contacted officer who advised to tone it out. SVAC toned for fire stand-by. Found a broken water pipe. Reset alarm. Will show in trouble mode until maintence resets the system. Response form sent. 9:51 p.m. Citation issued to Ronald Billingsley, no age given, for No Proof of Insurance. Verbal warning for failure to dim brights.

Jan. 11, 2007

10:18 a.m. Smoke alarm sounding at Spring Creek. Dispatch spoke with Spring Creek and it was coming from the motor pool. They were able to reset the alarm and all was well. 1:11 p.m. Motor vehicle accident with damage involving two vehicles on Fifth Avenue by the Seward Hotel, no injuries reported. Both parties came into the department and accident report forms were issued. 1:52 p.m. Abandoned vehicle, LIC/CEK818, reported on Port and Leirer Road. Vehicle has been there approximately ten days and is causing a problem for snow removal. Sgt Valadez responded and placed a 72-hour notice on the vehicle. 2:26 p.m. Power outage reported at various locations. Crew was called out. Dispatch was informed at 2:45 p.m. that the power would be out in most areas for approximately an hour to an hour and a half. 2:45 p.m. Reporting party requested to speak with an Officer regarding an ongoing problem with neighbors not securing their trash. Sgt responded and placed a trash warning on the apartment door on Third Ave. 2:59 p.m. Reporting party advised of an intoxicated male that was stumbling around by the church behind Tel Alaska. Sgt responded and the individual had left the area. 3:26 p.m. Alarm sounding from Lowell Canyon advising of a low tank alarm. Public works was advised. 3:34 p.m. Anonymous report that female was violating a protective order by being at the petitioner’s residence. Sgt responded and the individual was not there. 4:13 p.m. Reporting party advised of three juveniles on Third and Washington fighting. Officer separated the two individuals and transported them to their residence. Officer will be contacting the parents later this evening as they were not home yet. 5:35 p.m. Alarm sounding at Ray’s. Dispatch contacted the responsible party who advised it was a false alarm. 5:36 p.m. Electric department requested an Officer to the SMIC area to do traffic control while they remove a tree from the power lines.

Jan. 12, 2007

8:26 a.m. Communications North reported someone had hit their building sometime yesterday morning. 11:41 a.m. Vehicle in ditch reported at Mile 6 by BCVFD on-call. Trooper assistance was requested for traffic control due to vehicle blocking the northbound lane of traffic. BCVFD on-call advised at 11:47 a.m. that the vehicle was now out and assistance was no longer required. 11:58 a.m. Warrant recalled for Jeffery Shank, no age given, original charge failure to carry proof of insurance. Dispatch removed warrant from APSIN. 1:19 p.m. Reporting party brought in a tan clutch wallet that was found in the parking lot of the post office. Contained AK license and various credit cards. Dispatch left a message with the name provided on the license. Officer advised and wallet was entered into the lost and found book. Owner came and claimed wallet.
